St. Joseph, MO (2009-07-09) The Rosencrans Memorial Airport in Saint Joseph is set to receive nine-point-three million federal dollars for improvements.
The airport plans to use the money to replace their fire and crash rescue station. The goal is that the improvements will sustain and enhance mission requirements, personnel readiness, unit morale, and general health and safety in the 139th Air Wing of the Air National Guard.
The money coming to Saint Joseph is only a small portion of more than 83-million-dollars secured with the help of Missouri Senator Kit Bond to fund agricultural research and military projects in the state.
The funds are part of the "Agriculture and Military Construction" and "Veterans Affairs" spending bills. Those bills still must be passed by the Senate and reconciled with versions passed by the House of Representatives before they're signed into law by President Obama.
