Mound City, MO (2009-07-21) Mound City Aldermen learn they've gotten federal money for a new storm siren.
At the last board meeting it was announced the U-S-D-A has approved Mound City's request for just more than 13 thousand dollars for getting the new warning siren.
The town is also working with the Northwest Regional Council of Governments to see if more siren funding is available.
The Mound City Board also passed an ordinance that could allow for a pet owner release waiver that lets the City take immediate possession of dogs and not require a 5 day holding period.
Mound City has also received a check for more than 9
thousand dollars from the State Emergency Management
Agency for costs associated with the 2007 ice storm.
