Frostbite

Werner

Chillicothe, MO (1/7/2010) With temperatures dipping below zero in the coming days and weekend, frost bite can become a huge concern for those who venture outside.

Frost bite is the worst cold-induced injury which results in the freezing of tissue.
With wind chills also dropping below zero, they also increase the time that frost bite can occur.
Jennifer Dewitt, the E-R manager of the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, says frostbite varies from person to person.
DeWitt also says the most affected areas are the ears, nose, cheeks, chin, fingers and toes.
She recommends dressing in layers while covering up those areas.
