St. Joseph Train Fatal

Wayman

ST. JOSEPH, MO. (2010-1-25) A St. Joseph man is dead after investigators say he was drug for about 6 miles by a train.

The Missouri highway patrol says 57 year old Eric Lindsey apparently climbed between 2 tanker cars as the Union Pacific train was parked in the St. Joseph rail yard. Lindsey apparently was jolted as the train began moving and became stuck in the couplings. A warning sensor eventually went off, where train officials stopped and did a walking inspection. Lindsey's body was found between the 47th and 48th cars of the 58 car train. Highway patrol investigators have interviewed family members and don't believe he was trying to ride the train.
