New Jail

SAVANNAH, MO. (2010-1-29) It's official: a contract is signed to build a new jail in Andrew County.

The commission signed contracts yesterday afternoon with architects of Goldberg, Sullivan, and McCrerey for a new 63-bed jail in Savannah. It will be build on land behind the O-reily Auto Parts store which is just south of the highway "E" and 71 and intersection. A 4 and a half million dollar federal loan will help fund the new jail.
