Veterans in the Northern Missouri area have a new transportation option to reach V-A facilities.

A new shuttle vehicle will take veterans to Kansas City for medical appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the shuttle will travel to other V-A facilities; possibly in Saint Joseph or Leavenworth. V-A Coordinator Wayne Kleinschmidt of Trenton says the new vehicle will offer financial relief to volunteers who have driven their own cars.

The shuttle picks up passengers at a centralized meeting place. Veterans are asked to make reservations 3 days in advance by calling the V-A dispatcher at 816-922-2449.
