MARYVILLE, MO (2012-01-18)
Missouri's GOP lieutenant governor candidate from northwest Missouri is showing strong financial support in his bid for the seat.
Republican Brad Lager of Savannah reports 4th quarter fundraising totaling more than $733,000. Add to that more than 800,000 in cash on hand for the campaign and it adds up to more than a million and a half dollars. Lager announced his candidacy for Missouri's second spot in November, and is running on a platform of job creation, smaller government, and fiscal restraint. The state senator is running against the incumbent lieutenant governor and a former Democratic municipal judge. Two candidates on the Democratic side are campaigning, including former St. Joseph resident and chair of the party Susan Montee.
