Nearly 300 community leaders from throughout Northwest Missouri are in Jefferson City today.

They are lobbying lawmakers with the Great Northwest effort, now in its 10th year. Chair of this year's event Kathy Morgan says besides visiting with lawmakers, this afternoon they will bring in state department heads as well for community roundtables.

Nearly 20 north Missouri communities are represented in today's Great Northwest event.
