CLARINDA, IA (2012-01-9)
A local piece of World War 2 history is the focus of a program tonight in Clarinda.
Camp Clarinda was a prisoner of war camp for German soldiers set up in the page-county seat during the second world war. Tonight's lecture is at the Lied Public Library, where director Andrew Hoppmann says local historian Milan Shaw will explain how the Clarinda town played a role in housing the prisoners.
