Flood Outlook

Wayman

KANSAS CITY, MO (2012-01-26)

Good news for landowners along the Missouri River: The experts say we are in for a dry spell the next several months.

Scott Watson is the senior hydrologist with the National Weather Service near Kansas City. He says the forecast models are showing low chances for snow not just in the Missouri River Valley, but also north of us and through the entire river basin system. He says the chances we will see flooding like last summer along the Missouri is very low.

Watson adds even the chance of rain remains about average for past years clear through April. You can hear the in-depth interview with Watson during our morning conversation, that's at 10:09 tomorrow morning here on KXCV/KRNW.
