Cost cutting means a high-tech solution to save money clearing Missouri roads this winter.

Missouri's transportation department maintenance engineer Becky Allmeroth says they are using new technology to reduce the amount of excess salt that's spilled from trucks.

Allmeroth adds improved snow plows will allow for fewer plows to be on Missouri roads the coming months.
