The Second Harvest Food Bank in the St.Joseph has a new program for those on food stamps.

The program "Close the Gap" will provide better access to the supplemental nutrition assistance program also known as "SNAP". Food security coordinator Christine Fewerbacher says the program makes it easier for people to get assistance.

Fewerbacher says the program also puts money back into the local economy by funding food suppliers in northwest Missouri.
