MARYVILLE, MO (2011-01-26) Discussions continue on starting a random drug testing program at the Maryville R-2 Schools.
At its recent board meeting, members tabled the proposal which would set up testing for students involved in certain extra-curricular activities as overseen by the Missouri State High School Activities Association. High school students using the school's parking lot would also fall under the testing guidelines. Maryville R-2 superintendent Vickie Miller says the results would be confidential. Miller says durg testing is still under consideration because the board wants to make sure everything is being done in the community to keep kids safe.
