MARYVILLE, MO (2011-01-12) Our region's elected officials are using the "Safety in Number" theory when it comes to weathering out the recession storm.

Many of our city councilmen and alderwomen are members of the Missouri Municipal League, a non-profit group that acts as a clearinghouse of information. MML staff associate Stuart Haynes says with the issues facing small towns today, there's no reason to go it alone. Haynes says by pooling brain power, cities don't have to re-invent the wheel in solving tough problems.
