TRENTON, MO. (2010-1-22) A Northwest Missouri man is accused of making homemade bombs and being a felon in possession of firearms.
The U.S. attorney's office says 53-year-old Richard W. Cobley was arrested yesterday at his Trenton home on federal charges. Prosecutors say an undercover agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives visited Cobley's home last week and was given one of the bombs. A federal affidavit says Cobley showed the agent two loaded firearms in a bedroom, then took him to a hidden room in the basement. Prosecutors say Cobley told the agent he had at least seven more of the improvised explosives, and would be ready if the government came to his home.
