MARYVILLE, MO (2010-1-20) Republican leaders in the Missouri House and Senate are promising traditional party themes as this year's session is well underway.
Let by lieutenant governor Peter Kinder, the GOP majority pledged first and foremost not to raise Missourian's taxes this year. Kinder also says the GOP will vigorously defend the lives of the unborn and protect 2nd amendment rights. Missouri's democratic governor Jay Nixon is also pledging not to raise taxes and is promoting various job creation proposals to in more badly needed income tax revenues into state coffers. The governor's job ideas are expected to be the centerpiece of his state of the state speech tonight.
