MARYVILLE, MO (2009-01-23) Northwest Missouri Senator Brad Lager is now the new chair of the Senate Commerce, Consumer Protection, Energy and Environment committee.
The appoint comes from Senate Pro-Tem Charlie Shields of St. Joseph, who says he chose Lager because of his experience as a small business owner and chairman of the Joint Committee on Tax Policy.
Lager's 9 member committee is responsible for overseeing legislation dealing with regulatory matters, consumer protection, interstate commerce, energy sources, and other issues.
Lager says he'll be concentrating on strong economic growth and developing energy resources in his position as chair.
