MARYVILLE, MO (2009-01-23) The president of the university in Maryville says he's very pleased with the governor's proposal to save colleges from yet another budget cut.
Earlier there was talk of a 25 percent cut to school's budgets, but Governor Nixon's proposal this week offers no cuts if the schools will freeze tuition for a year.
Northwest Missouri State President Doctor Dean Hubbard says education has already taken enough hits- to the point state funding remains at levels from 7 years ago.
Hubbard says Northwest will still face inflationary increases, but the Nixon solution is a great solution.
