GENTRY COUNTY, MO (2009-01-23) The state's audit of Gentry County is complete, and officials have found several areas for county leaders to work on.

Among the suggestions are marking invoices "paid" to avoid having them presented for payment more than once... Instituting a control to ensure materials and equipment ordered actually arrive, and adopting an investment policy as required by state statutes.

Auditors also found the county did not prepare and publish an annual budget for the Sheriff's civil fees fund or the children's trust fund in 2006.
