MARYVILLE, MO (2010-1-20) A decorated soldier, Scholar and Statesman will be speaking tonight on the University in Maryville.
Retired major general "Burn" Loeffke is coming in as part of Northwest's distinguished lecture series. The four silver star, 5 bronze star, and purple heart soldier is the former commanding general of the US Army south. He's also served as a military and deffense attache in Moscow and in China. Lecture organizers say the major general is an excellent role model, using his career and experience as a humanitarian to continue helping through the foundation he's now overseeing. The distinguished lecture starts at 8 tonight on the Campus of Northwest Missouri State University. It will be in the Mary Linn auditorium.
