ST. JOSEPH, MO. (2010-1-15) Area children get a chance to become more comfortable with visits to the doctor tomorrow.
The St. Joseph Museum and Northwest Health Services are holding a Teddy Bear Clinic at the museum tomorrow. Children are invited to bring their teddy bears in for a check-up and minor repairs. Pediatric nurse practitioner Diana King will be there with teddy bear sized wheel chairs, crutches and bandages. Kathy Reno with the St. Joseph museum says this is an opportunity for children to become less worried about going to the doctor. Children will also be able to weigh and measure themselves and use a stethoscope to listen to their own heart. The Teddy Bear Clinic is tomorrow afternoon from 2 to 4 at the St. Joseph Museum. Regular admission fees apply.
