St. Joe Heating Assistance

ST. JOSEPH, MO (1/13/2010) The total is in for a project in St. Joseph that had nearly 30 businesses pitching in to help those without heat this winter.

Called "Change the Situation", St. Joe banks, Lenders, and Realtors all competed to raise the funds by collecting spare change from customers.

More than 850 dollars were raised, which will go to the Community Action Partnership of Greater St. Joseph's Home Energy Assistance Program.

More than 50 change boxes were put out across the city.

Organizers say the visibility even prompted some mailed in donations for the cause.
