Mo Medicaid

Wayman

Savannah, MO (1/11/2010) A Northwest Missouri Senator says the federal healthcare bill could put even more pressure on lawmakers to balance the state budget.

Savannah Senator Brad Lager says the state will have to cut a (b)billion dollars this legislative session and next year.

But he says if the federal healthcare bill passes, it will force the state to come up with hundreds of millions more dollars for all the required programs.

Lager says the budget will dominate this year's legislative session and will impact nearly all programs in Missouri.
