MARYVILLE, MO (2009-01-13) A Maryville group is tying in next week's inauguration with helping the community.
Former Obama election volunteers in Maryville are pegging next Monday for a community wide food drive.
Organizers say the Ministry Center in Maryville is facing greater demands in this poor economy, and organizer Carolyn Johnson says the idea to help stems from a carry-over of the election volunteerism.
Johnson says volunteers will be at the Democratic headquarters located on Main street in Maryville next Monday from 10 to 6. Anyone is encouraged to drop off food there for the Ministry Center, including especially-needed items like juices, cereal, macaroni and cheese, and canned fruits and soup.
