Missouri Governor Jay Nixon will visit Northwest Missouri State University today.

Nixon will discuss plans to provide Missouri colleges and universities with new performance-based funds. The Governor's Fiscal Year 2014 budget proposal includes an increase of 34 million dollars for higher education through a performance-based funding model. KXCV will carry Nixon's speech from the Northwest Student Union Board Room live this morning at 11:30.
