Farmer Tax Deadline Extended

Lawson

MO (2013-02-11)

Missouri Department of Revenue has extended the deadline for farmers and fisherman to file their state income taxes from March 1st to April 15th.

This stems from the late passing of the American Taxpayer Relief Act at the federal level, causing the IRS to extend their tax return acceptance period. Director of Communications Ted Farnen says Missouri's extension choice gives better opportunity to those eligible.

Taxpayers are eligible if at least two-thirds of their total gross income was from farming or fishing in 2011 or 2012. More information is available at dor.mo.gov.
