Crisis Response students at Northwest Missouri State University are learning about more than dealing with crises.
The students worked with Northwest Missouri State University's Mass Media department to simulate interactions with the press. The Principles of Humanitarian Aid course at Northwest challenges students to simulate relief to a fictitious country facing political unrest and a natural disaster. Part of the class includes interacting with media outlets from different parts of the world. Advanced Reporting students played the roles of different broadcast networks, all with different audiences. Commanding General and Associate Professor Mark Corson says his students learned a lot from the exercise.
