CIE Assists Nw Student

Northwest Missouri State University's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is assisting a Northwest student launch a technology company.

The company is called BlurPort L-L-C and was founded by a junior chemistry major from Clinton, Missouri, Aakash Patel. After experiencing problems remembering passwords for his flashdrive, Patel developed a secure USB data storage device which uses smart phone technology to protect the data.

The agreement with Northwest will allow BlurPort to use space at the C-I-E for development and testing. The company also plans to utilize Northwest students and faculty for assistance with marketing, business plan development and computer software development. Patel hopes to have the product ready for market as early as this spring.
