Neglected homes in Chillicothe may soon be torn down.

The City of Chillicothe recently applied for a Demolition Grant through the Missouri Community Development Block Grant program. The grant would be for 125 thousand dollars and would be a cost-share program with the homeowners. According to City Manager Ike Holland, more than 60 homes have been identified as eligible for the program.

Holland says approval for the grant could come this summer.
