A poetry out loud competition will take place this afternoon at 4.

The Allied Arts Council will host the northwest regional competition at Troester Media Center in St. Joseph. Competing will be Christten Hall, Meghan Render, Nick Eldredge, and Sunsurea Marrot. Operations manager, Cathy Ketter says winners move from state, to regional, then to national competitions.

The event is free, open to the public and is being held at 4 this afternoon.
