MARYVILLE, MO (2012-02-07)
Almost no local issues are appearing on Missouri ballots here in north Missouri today, but it is a chance for residents to vote their presidential preferences.
The exception is in Buchanan county, where residents are being asked to continue a quarter cent sales tax to be used for capital improvements, restoration, and economic development. If passed, the sales tax should sunset in 2020, 8 years from now. Polls in Missouri for the presidential preference and in Buchanan county for the capital improvement sales tax question will be open until 7 tonight.
