HOLT COUNTY, MO (2012-02-02)
Chronic wasting disease in deer remains in the cross hairs of the Missouri Conservation Department.
The neurological disease spreads through the spine and brain of an infected deer, and samples recovered from the state's last hunting season shows it's now jumped from captive deer in Macon and Linn counties to wild deer in Missouri. Holt County Conservation agent Anthony Maupin is helping track the disease and says hunters will know something is wrong.
