MARYVILLE, MO (NaN-NaN-NaN)That's what the snow storm 3 weeks ago ended up costing the Missouri Department of Transportation. MoDOT says the price tag reached 7.7 million dollars mainly because of the 30,000 tons of salt and supplies to clear the roads as well as more than 90,000 hours of work that more than 2,500 employees put in. MoDOT estimates snowplow trucks logged just more than a million miles. That work included not just the state highways, but helping local communities in 16 counties hardest hit by the winter storm. MoDOT says salt and other supplies do remain stocked and equipment is in good shape.
