SAVANNAH, MO. (2010-2-23) Savannah City Hall is considering changing its office hours.

City officials are considering moving the open hours from the standard 8 to 5 to changing it to 7 in the morning until 4. City staff say with customers paying city bills on credit or debit cards, they could do it before they had to go to work at 8 in the morning. They also point out city maintenance staff work until 3:30... so if they're called back for water needs or other problems before 4 O'clock they wouldn't be on overtime. Savannah officials have put a poll on the City's website to determine what customers want. The city also continues its discussions with a contract with Andrew County water supply district number 3. The proposal calls for Savannah to act as district number 3's sole water provider for 20 years. A final contract is expected in the next few weeks.
