ATCHISON COUNTY, MO. (2010-2-3) Atchison County voters soundly rejected a sales tax renewal in yesterday's special election.

The final votes were 57% "NO" to just 43% supporting it. Approval would have meant extending the quarter-cent sales tax for economic development in the Tarkio, Rock Port, and Fairfax areas.
