MARYVILLE, MO (2010-2-17) Hard financial times are on the way for our region's Colleges and Universities.
Several presidents of Missouri Institutions testified at a house appropriations hearing yesterday inside the State House. Northwest Missouri State president Dr. John Jasinski let lawmakers know nearly $3 million have been saved in the budget for the Maryville Campus in the last 7 months. He highlights a major factor that is helping Northwest save the State money and summed it up in one word: INNOVATION. Jasinski says the University in Maryville is dealing with the reality of the budget situtation and executing the innovation and strategy. He's also launching a series of open forums on the Campus this week to talk about the situation.
