MARYVILLE, MO (2010-2-22) Three teams of middle school mathletes from Northwest Missouri will compete in the State competition mathcounts.

Mathcounts is a national math competition program. 14 schools competed in a qualifying competition with the top 3 teams moving on to the State competition. St. Francis Xavier took 1st place, St. Gregory Barbarigo school took 2nd and East Buchanan middle school took 3rd. Diane Lade of St. Gregory's says this program can bring out the best in students. Mathcount's State competition will take place in March.
