CHILLICOTHE, MO. (2010-2-19) The Chillicothe R-2 school board plans on saving about $350,000 a year through staff changes coming about through attrition.
At this week's board meeting members approved the staff eliminations and re-assignments. The Chillicothe R-2 district will hire an assistant superintendent on a part-time basis. They also will hire two and a half elementary school principal positions, eliminate 3 jobs at the middle school, cut a full time guidance counselor and re-align the adult agriculture education position. Superintendent Linda Gray-Smith has been working for months on an expense reduction plan for the district.
