Student Tax Breaks

Wayman

MARYVILLE, MO (2009-02-18) Being declared a disaster area has economic benefits for Northwest Missouri State students.

Nodaway County received the designation after last summer's floods and tornados.

Now, income-qualified students at the University in Maryville could see their tax credits double.

Terri Christensen is the bursar at the school and says besides doubling, the designation expands what students can claim.

Students do not have to live in Nodaway County to receive the credits… just attend college or a university within a disaster-designated county.
