MARYVILLE, MO (2009-02-18) Banking on a windfall from yesterday's stimulus bill signing, MODOT wastes no time in putting the coming money to work.
Officials say Interstate 35 in Clinton County is one of three projects started just hours after the bill's signing.
Crews are starting to resurface both north and south bound lanes from north of Shoal Creek to north of Highway 116 near Lathrop.
That job is expected to cost more than 14 million dollars.
MODOT's Transportation Director says they're taking an aggressive approach to making the state's highways safer.
Missouri is expected to get 637 million dollars from the federal bill.
Among other projects that money will be used for is in Atchison County for the 9 million dollar Missouri River bridge rehabilitation into Brownville…. And a one-point-3 million dollar truck staging area at St. Joseph's river port.
