Chillicothe School Cuts
MARYVILLE, MO (2008-02-20) The tough economy is forcing the Chillicothe School District to make some tough cut-backs.
A plan was approved at this week's meeting to cut some staff through attrition and eliminate some positions.
About 75 percent of the district's budget is personell.
Administration hopes the cuts will lessen the spending deficit the district will almost certainly face.
Assistant Superintendent Wade Schrader says in trying to figure out finances, the children's education was top priority.
The cuts in staff won't take place until after this school year is over.
