Savannah, MO (2009-12-22) The Savannah City Council approves the re-naming of a street in town.

The Third street extension from Park to Swenson will now be known as "Franciscan Way".

The name change was proposed by a Sisters of St. Francis petition.

Although the road will still officially be 3rd street, the new name is being considered an honorary designation.

The city also set recycling dates around Christmas time.... There will be no pickup on December 24th.... but the regular schedule resumes on the 31st.
