MARYVILLE, MO (2009-12-29) Buying wood is common in our area, but there is an official agency you can turn to to make sure you're getting what you paid for.

The Department of Agriculture's Division of Weights and Measures as officially defined what a "cord" of wood is.

So says Bob Schultheis (shult-hise) with the Extension Agency.

Schulteis says you should keep information on both the wood seller and the amount.
