MARYVILLE, MO (2008-12-19) Power outages like we saw last year just didn't happen this time around, although North Missouri's largest power supplier says there were some outages this morning.
KCP&L says wind caused small outages in St. Joseph and north around the Rockport area.
A spokesman tells KXCV news they had enough crews ready that nearly every outage reported got its own crew… and as of 9 this morning fewer than 20 customers were without power, in the north district of KCP&L's 16 thousand square mile area.
The power company spokesman declared the ice accumulation north of St. Joseph at a quarter of an inch… and says we were fortunate the storm moved slow and warmer-than-predicted temperatures were in place when the rain did start to fall last night.
