MARYVILLE, MO (2008-12-19) Even though we dodged a bullet unlike last December's 50 year ice storm… one group in Maryville is commemorating that event for something good.
The Support Staff Council on the campus of Northwest Missouri State is raffling tickets for a handful of special pictures.
The photos were taken the day after the ice storm of 2007… and are matted in wood-pine frames that were crafted from a fallen tree brought down by the ice.
Dan Smith is the chair of the Campus's Support Staff Council and says the money will go for scholarships- turning the tragedy into something very positive.
Raffle tickets for the limited edition ice storm art work will be sold around Northwest's campus through February.
