MARYVILLE, MO (2011-12-20)
The winter storm crippling the southern United States just won't produce much for us here in the Midwest corners.
Although fairly heavy snow appeared to be falling at times through this morning, Evan Bookbinder with the National Weather Service near Kansas City says our Kansas and Nebraska listening area should see less than 2 inches when it ends tonight, an inch or less for our Missouri and Iowa listeners.
Northwest Missouri north of a line from Chillicothe to St. Joseph as well as our Kansas and Nebraska counties remain under a winter weather advisory though 6 tonight, and forecasters are warning overnight temperatures will be flirting with 20 degrees, so re-freezing is possible on roads and bridges. A reminder if you are heading out for holiday travel you can always get the latest road conditions from our website, that's KXCV.org and click on your state's logo on the right side of our homepage.© Copyright, KXCV
