Teacher of the Year

A Chillicothe Middle School teacher has been named "Teacher of the Year" in the R-2 District.

Christine Jones teaches 7th and 8th grade science and was chosen among 6 finalists for the honor after administrators from area schools reviewed portfolios and interviewed the candidates, one from each building. Superintendent Roger Barnes says the Monetary Award is sponsored by the Chillicothe Educational Foundation.

The District's Beacon Award for support staff this year has been given to Laurinda Davison, she's the middle school librarian.
