Scrap Metal Changes

Atchison Kansas city commissioners have changed zoning laws for scrap metal businesses in the city.

Community development director Stefanie Leif says the city had earlier passed a new code spelling out changes to selling and storing scrap metal, but changes still had to happen.

The new ordinance also applies to transients coming into Atchison to collect scrap, requiring them to have a city license.
