Leaders from universities in Maryville and St. Joseph are meeting in Jefferson City tomorrow.

The council of Public Higher Education is holding discussions ahead of Thursday's meeting of the state's coordinating board for higher education. The presidents are positioning for a change to performance-based funding for colleges and universities in the state. Northwest Missouri State president Dr. John Jasinski says part of that performance shift includes increased collaboration among the schools.

Jasinski adds the value of a higher education degree speaks for itself, now it's up to the institutions to continue to perform and excel in their missions.
