MARYVILLE, MO (2011-12-19)
The university in Maryville is moving forward with developing war game software for the US Army.
A group of students and faculty at Northwest are partnering with Fort Leavenworth military brass to create a multi-touch tabletop similar to a giant I-pad. Soldiers can move 4,000 military icons around a digital map, strategizing battle plans and even re-playing archived moves for instruction. Dr. Bill Siever says the software project has given the students a unique learning experience.
Fort Leavenworth is asking for the next phase of the Northwest War Games development to continue into next year.© Copyright, KXCV
